8/11/06 - TOPMA, Texas Raceway

First of all, I want to congratulate Chris Smith and the Smith Bros. Racing Team for their win in Houston last weekend. Somewhere between Houston and Waxahachie I seemed to have misplaced the results paperwork. I don't remember all of the times that everyone but I do remember who won! Congratulations guys!

Round 1:

Doug Riesterer (W) 4.158 at 171 mph (.038 RT)
Bobby Booth (RU) 5.209 at 89 mph (.115 RT)

Doug had that car flying!

Chris Smith (W) 4.156 at 175 mph (.098 RT)
JR Boiles (RU) 4.470 at 128 mph (.091 RT)

Chris looked like he was tied to a string!

Gaylen Smith (W) 4.159 at 173 mph (.074 RT)
Heath Harvey (RU) 4.310 at 167 mph (.018 RT)

Heath was going for the win with the holeshot but we evicted that gremlin on Thursday night and the hard charging HEMI went around that nitrous powered Pontiac.

Jeremy Brown (W) 4.121 at 175 mph (.104 RT)
Keith Farris (RU) 8.031 at 58 mph (.077 RT)

Another great run by the twizted lemon Corvette.

Semi Finals:

Gaylen Smith (W) 4.112 at 175 mph (.048 RT)
Chris Smith (RU) 4.153 at 174 mph (.061 RT)

What a great race! It was hard to tell from the starting line who had this one.

Jeremy Brown (W) 4.049 at 179 mph (.086 RT)
Doug Riesterer (RU) 4.219 at 164 mph (.037 RT)

Doug had the hole shot but couldn't hold off that hard charging Chevy.

Finals:

Gaylen Smith (W) 4.149 at 176 mph (.037 RT)
Jeremy Brown (RU) 4.131 at 176 mph (.059 RT)

Another great run that couldn't be predicted from where I was standing. I stood and held my breath until the win light came on and then Team TBH was overcome with joy. It had been too long since we were able to celebrate and I wanted to send out my thanks for all the hard work that goes into the preparation of getting to the track. I see it first hand and know how difficult it is to do. We would like to thank our new sponsor.......House of Hot Rods (which by the way was the lane we were in for the win!). Congratulations to Jeremy Brown and the Calagna Motorsports Team for their Runner-Up Finish.

Blown - 11
Nitrous - 3
